Media Releases:

 New editors for Aurealis

Chimaera Publications are pleased to announce the new editors of Aurealis to replace Keith Stevenson. They are Robert Hoge and Ben Payne, both based in Queensland. The production of the magazine and the new book-publishing arm of Chimaera Publications will remain in Melbourne. Robert and Ben will start after the publication of our huge triple issue, which is scheduled for October 2004.

A magazine like Aurealis needs an injection of fresh ideas every few years, and Chimaera Publications feels that Robert and Ben will take the magazine to even greater heights.

Robert and Ben said they were honoured to be chosen as the new editors and were looking forward to working with the Aurealis team and writers across Australia to continue publishing the country's best fiction.

'Aurealis has played an important role in Australian science fiction and we're looking to build on that,' Robert said.

'We want to publish the best stories we can and we're looking forward to reading submissions,' Ben said.

Chimaera Publications wants to thank Keith for the outstanding job he's done at the helm of Aurealis over the last three years.  He has introduced many new innovations and has taken the magazine to a new level, as well as being instrumental in getting n increasingly higher profile for the Aurealis Awards.

Keith said, 'I've had a fantastic 3 years and made a lot of friends through the pages of Aurealis. Thanks to everyone who's been so kind and positive during my stewardship. Thanks also to the Aurealis team who work voluntarily, just for the love of it. And finally, good luck to Robert and Ben. Aurealis is a precious thing. I know you'll both look after it. Here's to the future!'

There will be a new PO Box, phone number and contact details for Aurealis after October.
